Busy Busy

Well, after the North State Google Summit 9/19-9/20 and GCOE's C2tC day on 9/21, I've found a moment to begin digesting all.  Have you?  My guess is, if you're a classroom teacher, probably not. The presentations were filled with so many great ideas, tips, tricks, "ah-ha's" and "huh?s".  If you were at the Google Summit or weren't able to attend, I recommend you visit the session resources. Most of the presenters have linked their presentations here.  I just spent some time revisiting Lisa Highfill's session on Hyper Doc's.  I can really see using this with teachers for trainings and hopefully inspire them to use them with students!  What do you want to further explore?  Have you implemented anything you've learned at either the Summit or C2tC?

Libraries in the Digital Age

I was looking around for content to share with my peers about the shifts and trends in school libraries. I came across this video on San Diego County Office of Education's BLOG, and I think it sums it up pretty well.  It's from Common Craft, makers of short, easy to understand "explainer" videos.

We have two EdBytes Cafe days left in the school year.  Join us for easy, no stress conversations about anything ed tech.  Want to learn a new tool?  Have technical questions?  Something to share with other educators?  Bring your questions, ideas, advice, and let's learn together.  We have ipads and chromebooks available to use, or bring your own.  Drinks and treats on us!

Join us for an hour after school for informal, no-agenda, coffee shop style collaboration.  We'll have open conversations about using technology in your instruction.  Open to everyone from seasoned ed-techy teachers willing to share what you know, to newbies hoping to learn a trick or two.  FREE!

Can you believe this event SOLD OUT in January?  Clearly, folks in the North State are hungry for quality, ed tech professional development.  Can't wait to see our Glenn County friends there, and I'm hopeful to bump into colleagues from other counties, too.  If you're not attending, I'll be sure to share the highlights here on this blog!
